Camden Clean Air invites you to its annual cycling event, the Camden Clean Air Cycle Ride!
Encouraging active travel has always been important to us at Camden Clean Air. The Camden Clean Air Cycle Ride is one of the main events we organise every year.
2023
Taking place on Saturday 20 of May between 9.30am and 4pm, with staggered departures from 09:30am up until 11:30am, the Camden Clean Air Cycle Ride is a friendly, non-competitive bike ride for the whole community to take part in, regardless of fitness level, to celebrate cycling, cleaner air, and the amazing communities of Camden. We want to encourage everyone to explore cycling through central London and discover that it’s a fun, safe and cheap way to travel around the capital.
So why not journey your way through the borough of Camden as part of this family-friendly, fun-packed event? The ride will begin and end in Granary Square, thanks to the amazing support of the King’s Cross Estate.
The 2023 Camden Clean Air Cycle Ride will lead riders around the borough, through the likes of buzzing Camden Town, by serene Hampstead Heath, through exclusive Primrose Hill, beautiful Regent’s Park, trendy Fitzrovia, picturesque Lincoln’s Inn Fields and many other iconic parts of Camden, all the way to the City. If you choose to join us, you’ll discover London from a different perspective, support your community (all the funds raised go back into clean air work with Camden schools and communities) and help improve air quality. Get moving and make a change!
Our focus this year is ensuring that everyone can take part, so there will be free tickets to those on benefits (please email vpensabene@camdencleanair.org if that’s you). PLEASE NOTE WE ARE TRYING HARD TO SOURCE SOME MORE, BUT AT THE MOMENT WE HAVE RUN OUT OF FREE BICYCLES FOR THIS EVENT.
We will have many pubs and coffee shops signposted along the way, where riders can stop for refreshments, or even a full meal, as well as fully recyclable medals being handed out to all those who complete the ride. For children, there will be a “spot the landmark trail”, which includes spotting zebras and giraffes, and a prize for those who complete it.
For adults, our partner Human Forest has offered a prize of 600 free minutes for the most extravagantly dressed person or the best decorated bike (remember the ‘Blue for Clean Air’ theme!) and there is also a £50 voucher to spend at Benugo café in Regent’s Park. Again, remember to stay on the ‘Blue for Clean Air’ theme! All in all, it promises to be another day of great fun. Fingers crossed we’ll have good weather for the third year in a row!
