We are delighted to our partnership with iRecycle has celebrated its first anniversary.

iRecycle is an innovative waste management company, breaking boundaries by transporting waste on barges along the Regents Canal to reduce traffic on London’s roads and in turn air pollution. In addition to this 45% of the operations team have been employed via homeless charities, providing a significant social value & impact.

Here’s why iRecycle is involved in The Camden Clean Air Initiative, why we’re proud to have them support us, and a little more about them.

Why did you decide to get involved with The Camden Clean Air Initiative?

We felt the values possessed by CCAI & iRecycle were so heavily aligned it was refreshing to share ideas and collaborate with such important topics such as the environment and other areas of sustainability. Camden is such a diverse & unique part of London and the more likeminded companies who are located in the area come together the greater impact we can all make.

What are your plans for being involved?

iRecycle wishes to share ideas, contribute to existing initiatives and help spread awareness.

What do you love most about Camden?

Camden is the most unique part of London. The people that live, work & visit the area bring a blend of diversity that makes it so special. We are proud that Camden is the heart of our water & road operation.

A little more about iRecycle

Born in 2018 iRecycle was formed with a single vision, change for better. Tackling how waste is transported out of London initially, iRecycle introduced waste by water using barges to transfer large quantities of commercial waste along the Regents & Grand Union canal before it is treated for recycling & waste to energy. This old but innovative method has removed 730 truck movements off London’s roads over a 24 month period even with COVID 19.

In January 2019 iRecycle turned its attention to enhanced ethical employment by working with homeless charities to help the fight on poverty and ending homelessness.

iRecycle’s philosophy of “do the right thing” will continue to evolve, enriching lives & the environment.
